Save As Doc Add-on

If you use Google Forms for quizzes, surveys, etc. you are going to love Save As Doc. I just used Save As Doc to view the results from a survey. On my survey I had a long answer question. It was very difficult to read the responses in Google Sheets. Once I ran the Save As Doc Add-on in Google Sheets I could easily read all of the survey responses in Google Docs. Flubaroo is an Add-on that allows you to easily grade multiple choice or fill in the blank questions when using Google Forms. Geddit is a free app that you can use in your classroom to check for student understanding in real time. Students can answer multiple choice questions, short answers, polls, math problems, and more. A powerful part of Geddit is the check-in feature. Students can privately (only their teacher can see) check-in as many times as they need to during a lesson to show their understanding. Students can get "Geddit" at the Chrome Web Store. You can go to the Geddit website to create your class now. Below is a beginners video for getting started.

Communicating with Twitter

Hello friends! I have already started to get emails from teachers with questions about Twitter. Looks like communicating with families using Twitter was successful and something that many teachers want to continue this year. I am going to share some resources with you to get started with integrating Twitter as a communication tool.

You can access these forms on Google and then you can "make a copy" to modify the documents. Hit "file" & then "make a copy". Then you can edit the documents to hand out to parents. This is also something you can show at "Meet the Teacher" night.

Google Classroom!

Welcome back everyone! Happy first day of school. I am so excited that we have new technology in our classrooms. I am writing today because I know how eager everyone is to begin using their Chromebooks along with Google Apps for Education. I am pleased to announce that Google has released Google Classroom! I am confident that with Google Classroom you will all have an easier time integrating Google Apps this year. Let's check it out... here's a Google Classroom introduction video.
